Garden raised beds – the most productive and aesthetically pleasing way to home garden..
Before:
The garden area was already complete with eleven raised beds. Of all the raised beds one was
producing tomatoes but unfortunately it was infested with multiple predatory insects and
diseases. Three of the other raised beds had some invasive herbs and flowers. The rest of the
existing raised beds were unproductive and needed total recultivation.
The soil was spent. The irrigation was weather beaten and broken. The entire growing area
needed a complete overhaul to bring about the aesthetically pleasing and highly productive
vision that the management of this facility had in mind.
Action:
Our first order of business was to clear out ALL of the existing invasive and diseased plants from
the raised bed garden. Then we removed the roots of the invasive plants. Then we removed the
top few inches of soil from all of the raised bed gardens.
Next we replaced all of the irrigation in each of the raised beds with the latest drip irrigation
technology. All raised beds would now be on a timer independent from the rest of the irrigation
at the facility. The timer could now easily be updated based on weather conditions. Most
importantly all raised beds would now have total coverage distributing the perfect amount of
water to each raised bed with minimal water waste.
We then brought in literally TONS of our specially curated organic raised bed soil and fertilizer
and filled all of the raised beds giving the incoming plants the very best growing environment
possible.
There was a beautiful pink rose and a HUGE Sage bush that were both in good condition so we
gave them minimal care and let them remain in the garden.
The very best and most rewarding part of the raised bed garden renovation came last, planting
new plants! 🙂
Now that the garden has had a complete RESET we can now add the very best plants to grow
organically for years to come.
We had eleven raised beds to plant and over 200 residents to supply the healthiest food a garden
can provide for, so we planted a whole lot!
We started by planting a whole raised bed full of Strawberries to provide the residents with
abundant amounts of a super healthy and super tasty Fruit.
We planted Vegetables such as: Tomatoes, Broccoli, Artichokes, Green Bell Peppers, Red Bell
Peppers, Orange Bell Peppers, Eggplants, Cucumbers, Fava Beans, and Snow Peas.
We planted Greens such as; Napa Cabbage, Bok Choy, Swiss Chard, Orange Chard, Green
Chard, Red and Green Mustard Greens, Dino Kale, Green Curly Kale, Red Curly Kale, Red
Russian Kale, Nevada Lettuce, Amanda Lettuce, and Bibb Lettuce.
We planted Herbs such as: Green Onions, Cilantro, Italian Basil, Genovese Basil, African Basil,
Italian Parsley, Curly Parsley, Fennel, Dill, Organo, Rosemary, Thyme, and Lavender.
After renovating the eleven raised beds in the garden and getting them all planted, we took over
the management of the garden on a weekly basis. By having He Provides – Raised Bed Gardens
manage the garden on a weekly basis the management of the care facility can know that their
edible garden is always in peak performance, looking great, and their residents are always able to
eat from it on a regular basis.
We took over this garden management in September of 2022 and have managed it every week
since then.

facility from the garden.
As the garden continues to grow it has changed looks along the way.
This garden has become a favorite of many of the residents of the facility. The garden is a place
to enjoy nature and grab a healthy snack.
This garden also has an Orange tree, Lemon tree, Lime tree, and Guava tree.
The wonderful fountain in the middle of the garden provides the perfect calm and relaxation for
the area.
Neighbors, friends and family members all enjoy the fresh organic fruits, vegetables, herbs,
greens, and scenery that this raised bed garden provides.
